Japanese Garden, St Mawgan, Cornwall

The Japanese Garden nestles at the bottom of a tranquil valley in the small village of St Mawgan, not far from Newquay airport. The garden was built over six years by Robert and Stella Hone, alongside their Bonsai nursery, opening to the public in 1997. It is open to the public from March to October.

It makes an interesting comparison to the ancient and larger Koishikawa Korakuen gardens in Tokyo.

Thanks to current owners,
Natalie Hore and Stuart Ellison,
I was able to take some pictures
with a Go board in picturesque
settings of various parts of
the garden when visited on
12 September 2016.
