Kyushu Railway Museum

The Kyushu Museum is at the end of the line in Kitakyushu in Retro-town of Mojiko.
The building is the former Kyushu Railway Headquarters.


Location

From the station turn right through the bus stop to the museum.

The following locomotives are on display under a covered way outside:
59634, C59-1, ED72-1, EF10-35. Plus units.

Other Facilities

In addition there are drive-yourself mini-trains, model railway, simulators, exhibits and a shop.
Nearby a separate tourist train (locos DB101 and DB102) runs down a former freight line.

Opening

Open from 09:00 to 17:30. Closed second Wednesday, except summer school break.
Entry (2009) 300 yen.

Mojiko Station

As part of the retro-town, the station has been delightfully restored to original state, plus a signal and pair of wheels (from 28627) form part of a floral display at the buffer stops.
